  • Borers in GTA boring a hole in our wallets!
    It is a fact. The Asian Long-Horned Beetle and the Emerald Ash Borer have been found in the GTA and are killing trees throughout the city. These boring insects (not indigenous to Canada) actually bore into the capillary network of the tree, just under the bark and over time, reduce the plant’s nutrient uptake ability to the point where the tree dies. Given the opportunity, these insects can kill off a huge amount of a city’s canopy. Control is extremely difficult. Eradication can only be achieved by quarantining the affected trees and destroying them.
