Is your life plagued by the extra pounds on your body and you feel constantly weighted down by all the extra weight? Gaining weight has several negative implications on one's quality of life.

For example, bigger sized people often complain about not having enough dates. They have lower self esteem, and encounter problems with their social life and at their work place. Being overweight also means it takes extra effort just to get anything done. As a result, over weight people are often perceived to be dull and lacking in energy. For these reasons, the quality of life of an overweight person is always steadily declining.

To stop that from happening, anyone looking to lose weight will have to find weight loss solutions that work. The problem is, there are so many weight loss solutions in the market that it's easy to get overwhelmed or lost. One expert says one thing, another weight loss guru says another. So who should you listen to?

For starters, it is always a good idea to turn away from anything that doesn't sound natural. For instance, weight loss pills will not help you lose weight naturally. Often, these pills suppress some natural functions of the body, like the desire to eat, and causes the body to lose weight in the short term. However, this is hardly a a good solution because the body will need a good mix of nutrition to stay healthy. In addition, some weight loss pills may cause side effects such as headaches or lethargy. Besides, the consumer will often gain back all the weight lost (sometimes more) when he or she stops taking the pills. So it's a good idea to stay away from such solutions.

Instead, look for more natural solutions like dieting or exercising. Remember that the body will start to lose weight as long as it burns more energy than it can store. So it's all about changing the rate of metabolism. When you have a higher metabolism rate, you can have your favorite food like chocolate cakes or friend chicken wings and still not gain weight. Why? Because the body will convert all that excess fat to energy very quickly due to its high metabolism rate.

The metabolism rate of everyone differs. Some are lucky enough to have a higher metabolism rate naturally. But not everyone is so lucky. For those who do not burn fat easily, the only way to improve the metabolism rate is to exercise. That sounds like pain, and most people go all out to avoid having to exercise. Which explains why weight loss pills manufacturers are making all the money - because the promise of losing weight without any pain is simply too attractive to ignore.

But the reality remains unchanged. Exercise is the only thing that works in the long term! So you may have to find a way get involved in an exercise program that is suitable for your fitness level, and will work for you. Speak with a qualified fitness instructor and map out some goals. Take on something that you can handle and move on from there. Even if you do just two push ups a day, it's still better than doing nothing.

So lose weight the natural way, stay healthy, keep fit for years to come and live a better life.
